Still Alice...

Hi everybody! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year with your family and friends!
I am writing again after holidays, and this week is about the movie Still Alice. This film was directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (both have worked together previously on 04 independent movies), and the movie is based on the bestselling novel of the same name written by Lisa Genova.

The plot of the story is about a linguistic professor Alice, who is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and how she and her family learn to deal with it. The role of Alice is played by Julianne Moore who is awesome on the movie. Before they started shooting, she prepared for four months for the role. She talked with a lot of people that had Alzheimer and all the movements/actions related to the disease that she did on the film, Julianne saw them in them.

The rest of the cast is great! The talented Alec Baldwin plays the husband of Alice; and his role is not the stereotype who quits the relationship. The couple has three kids played by Kristen Stewart, Kate Bosworth and Hunter Parrish. Its's very interesting to see how each kid reacts different to the disease of their mother and the probability that they have it too!

What is also great in the movie is that it shows a lot of NYC customs like the place where Alice used to run, what she used to eat and more. Since Julianne is a new yorker, she had that aspect in common with Alice, and contributed with some customs to make the movie feel more real.

So far, the film has been nominated for best actress in a motion picture in the Hollywood Film Awards, Palm Springs International  Film Festival and Golden Globes, and has won the first three.

Here goes the trailer of the movie.
